By projecting the light of supernormal radiant perception (I.36) on to what is subtle, hidden or remote, (he comes to) knowledge of that

The supernormal perception referred to is one called Radiant (jyotiṣmatī), and when the yogin projects its light on to something subtle or hidden or remote, he discovers it.
